Handmade brass welt mill and 5 mm thick storm leather welt sold as a kit. Brass welt mill is used to thin welt to be required thickness ranging from 3 to 5 mm. Used by shoemakers, cobblers, leathercraft and DIY shoe repair enthusiasts.

How to use welt mill:
Place and hold the welt mill on left knee with the leather stirrup.
Use a sharp broad blade
Trap the welt mill with a leather loop strap and secure it with your left foot
Place the 20 mm wide leather welt on to welt mill brass channel with grain side downward
Now place the blade on one the inclined brass step depending on the thickness of the welt required
Ensure that the blade sits inclined
Now pull the leather welt gradually to create even thickness welt
This is the way to create a uniform level welts
The brass step has nine positions allowing for various thickness's to be prepared
