Men steel — 11.5cm long steel shank. Gently curved, can be bent to fit shoe last shape. Has a ridge on one side for strength. Holes for securing to leather insoles by gluing and nailing.
Women steel high heel — 5 inches long, for 1.5 to 2 inch high heels.
Men wooden — 10cm long wooden shank. Rigid, cannot be shaped.
Men plastic — 11.5cm long plastic shank. Rigid, cannot be shaped.
Steel shanks strengthen the waist of the shoe. Wooden and plastic shanks are rigid and not suitable for bending.
