11.5 cm long men steel shanks.
5 inches long women steel shanks for 1.5 to 2 inches high heels.
10 cm long men wooden shanks
11.5 cm long men plastic shanks.
Steel shanks are used for strengthening the waists of shoes. With holes to secure them in place on leather insoles by gluing and driving wooden nails. Gently curved. Can be bend into correct shoe last shape. They have a ridge on one side for strength.
Wooden and plastic shanks are rigid. Not possible to shape them.
